Marriage equality vote result

On the Line has supported marriage equality and is pleased that Australians have voted yes in the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey.

Kim O’Neill, Chief Executive Officer at On the Line, said, “On the Line is thrilled that all Australians can now get married, regardless of gender and sexual orientation. It’s important for LGBTQI couples to be treated equally and be able to legally and publically express their commitment to each other through marriage.”

“The yes vote represents fairness, equality and social justice for all Australians. This is a much broader issue than marriage, it’s about the values of society and ending discrimination by showing that everyone is equal,” said Ms O’Neill.

This vote outcome goes a long way towards enriching the social health of the two people who want to marry and their wider community.
