For veterans, Defence personnel and their families.

On the Line provides phone and online counselling services for current serving and ex-Australian Defence force personnel and their families. We recognise that many current serving and ex-Defence personnel are reluctant to talk about how their experiences affect their mental health. Depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and difficulties transitioning to civilian life are not new issues among veterans. What has changed, is how the symptoms of post traumatic disorder and other mental health issues is recognised and managed.

Defence All-hours Support Line

The Defence All-hours Support Line (ASL), is a telephone service for current serving members of the ADF and their families that is available 24/7.

  • 24/7 professional phone counselling
  • Triage services
  • Referrals to local service providers.

NQ Connect: Operation Compass

NQ Connect: Operation Compass provides professional counselling support to current and past serving Australian Defence force personnel in the Townsville region via phone and digital platforms.

  • 24/7 professional phone counselling
  • 24/7 professional online counselling – web chat and video counselling
  • Interactive online K10 self-assessment
  • Online referral and service finder
  • User-based discussion forum
  • Website, social media, SEO and content marketing
  • Forum moderation

  • Detailed call activity and service performance reporting.

Open Arms

Open Arms – Veterans & Families Counselling After Hours Service is designed to assist Open Arms clients to cope with crisis situations outside of Open Arms office hours, ensuring 24/7 service provision for veterans and their families. This service includes the after-hours monitoring and moderation of the Open Arms Facebook page.

  • Business hours callback sessions
  • Monitor online self-intake platform
  • Forum and social media moderation
  • Detailed call activity and performance reporting.
