On the Line helplines seeing an increase in calls related to COVID-19
On the Line has seen an increase in calls over the last couple of weeks, as the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has spread across Australia.
On the Line is a professional social health organisation that delivers 25 mental health support services on behalf of our government and commercial funders. On the Line specialises in supporting clients along the mental health continuum, from high risk and complex needs to the worried well.
On the Line CEO Samantha Fredericks, said: “MensLine Australia, Suicide Call Back Service and SuicideLine Victoria are all experiencing an increase in calls from people who are concerned about the impact COVID-19 has on their lives now and into the future.
“In this time of escalating need, our workforce is fully equipped and mobilised to support Australians throughout the coronavirus crisis. Our counsellors are trained to provide help with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, loneliness and social isolation.”
Anyone who is feeling anxious, worried or stressed in these uncertain times, can call and speak to a professionally qualified counsellor. All the helplines below are open 24/7 and the service is free.
