On the Line, a leading provider of social and mental health services, is excited to announce the relaunch of the Suicide Call Back Service website (https://www.suicidecallbackservice.org.au/). The new-look website has an easier to navigate design that has led to an increase in online engagement.
A comprehensive UX (user experience) audit took place for the Suicide Call Back Service website during the financial year 2021. The audit took an in-depth review of the website and recommended key usability principles to improve a user’s experience. The audit provided best-practice on structure, page layout and content.
New website features include:
- Prominent buttons to phone a counsellor that are easier to navigate.
- A new online chat counselling widget on every webpage that is quick to use and mobile-friendly.
- Improved mental health resources structure and content optimisation to drive organic traffic to the website.
- A user centred design focused on a mobile-first experience. (Approximately 60% of website visitors are on a mobile device.)
In the first two months since the relaunch, the website has received over 25% more organic search traffic compared to the previous period. In addition, the website achieved a 45% increase in page views and a 17% rise in time spent on the website.
Many of these new features, including the online chat counselling widget, have also been rolled out across the MensLine Australia (https://mensline.org.au/) and SuicideLine Victoria (https://suicideline.org.au/) websites.
