On the Line is delighted to announce the successful launch of NQ Connect, a new service funded by the Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN).

Created to meet the mental health needs of people across northern Queensland, NQ Connect provides free counselling and support for anyone who is feeling the pressures of everyday life.

The service was built to address the unique needs of the northern Queensland community, including the regional and remote population. The group comprises 675,000 people spread across an area of 510,000km². Help can be accessed in a variety of ways, including a 1300 059 625 helpline, web chat, and video counselling. On the Line CEO Kim O’Neill said, “On the Line is delighted to work with Northern Queensland Primary Health Network to deliver an evidence-based mental health service for people in northern Queensland.

“The service represents yet another opportunity to continue our work, driven by our long-held principles and beliefs. These are to encourage people to feel better, to allow people to build resilience, and to connect them with community support.

“We look forward to making our expertise available in areas that may previously have had limited access to mental health services,” Ms O’Neill said.

The NQ Connect helpline and online services are answered by highly trained members of the counselling team, all of whom are qualified professional counsellors, social workers or psychologists.

NQ Connect is available 24/7, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Anyone who is in need of support, is feeling under pressure, or just needs to talk can call 1300 059 625 or just visit nqconnect.com.au.

On the Line has provided professional counselling support for over 60 years. Its counsellors provide telephone, web chat and video counselling services to more than 80,000 people each year.
